The opening of the new BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was celebrated in the presence of Pujya Gnanpriya Swami, Pujya Yagnavallabh Swami, and other swamis. Devotees, community leaders, friends, and well-wishers from the south-eastern United States participated in the ceremony in person and virtually.

The inauguration was a culmination of a host of events held over two days.

A Kirtan Aradhana (singing of devotional songs) was performed by BAPS Swamis and youths. A Women's Conference was also organized as part of the celebrations.

The inauguration ceremony consisted of Hindu Vedic prayers for world peace, followed by the consecration ceremony.(SUBHEAD)

Pujya Gnanpriya Swami and Pujya Yagnavallabh Swami performed the consecration ceremony at the behest of His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. The ceremony signalled the Mandir as a home of God open to one and all.

The new Mandir will be home to cultural, social, and religious activities for the Hindu-American community. It will also be a hub for community service activities.
