COVID 19 PREPAREDNESS MEET HELD,, INSTRUCTIONS ISSUED

A meeting regarding COVID 19 preparedness was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Director Health & Family Welfare, Chandigarh Administration. The meeting was attended by all senior officials of the health department, Chandigarh administration.

The following points were emphasised on during the meeting:-

1. Enhance covid testing as discussed in the V.C. with the Ministry on 27.3.2023. It has been decided to test the patients visiting Emergency Department, CH-22, 45, Manimajra and GMSH-16 should be tested for COVID 19. It has also been decided that all RT PCR samples should be tested for H1N1/H3N2 so as to assess the status of patients in case of mixed infection.
2. The Assistant Director (Malaria) was directed to check the cluster areas and to get genome sequencing done as per protocols . If a person is found positive, he is asked to quarantine himself for seven days. Rest of the family members who are asymptomatic need not to be quarantined.
3. All the Incharges were asked to create community awareness for COVID 19 among the general public. It was further directed that posters for COVID protocol awareness for the general public should be put up.
4. Incharge Emergency was asked to earmark COVID dedicated ward in GMSH-16.
5. Nodal Officer (oxygen) further intimated that adequate supply of liquid oxygen is available. All oxygen concentrators are in working condition. SMO I/c CH-22, 45 & Manimajra have been instructed to check that all oxygen beds, ventilators and oxygen concentrators are in working condition.
6. It was further informed that a mock drill will be done on 10th/11th April, 2023 as done earlier in December, 2022 to check awareness and preparedness of health facilities for COVID.
7. All the facility Incharges were requested to ensure COVID protocols among the health care personnel.
8. Medical Superintendent , GMSH16 to call a meeting with GMCH-32 and PGI authorities to set a protocol for preparedness, isolation and coordination for shifting of COVID cases.
