During the Festival of Inspirations in Robbinsville, NJ, at the site of the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, devotees are participating in a Grand Vedic Mahayagna. The three-month-long Vedic Mahayagna is a first of its kind in the West, celebrating the public offering of a Hindu Mandir that symbolizes selfless service, peaceful coexistence, and timeless Hindu spirituality.

This historic yagna represents the longest-running yagna in the western hemisphere, offering a unique opportunity for thousands of well-wishers to offer prayers for peace, both personal and global. A special Bal-Yagna will provide a unique opportunity for children to participate in Hindu rituals that date back thousands of years.

The Mahayagna is done to invoke peace within one's life and family, as well as peace around the world. It promotes universal values of peace and harmony to inspire future generations. It stands as one of the cornerstone events of the festival.

The Vedic Maha-Yagna features ancient rituals designed to connect participants with the divine. This is among the oldest all-encompassing Hindu rituals aimed to inspire pure and virtuous thoughts and actions. Mahant Swami Maharaj, following in the footsteps of his guru Pramukh Swami Maharaj, has carried on the tradition of hosting grand yagnas for global peace and harmony.

Earlier in a traditional manner, Mahant Swami Maharaj had ignited the auspicious flame of the yagna using the rays of the sun in Toronto. This flame was then employed to commence the first yagna.

Over a span of two-and-a-half months, until the beginning of October, the blissful chants and aura emanating from the daily sacred yagnas will bless the grounds of the Festival of Inspirations with a divine atmosphere.
