BRAHMPURA DISTRIBUTED GOLD MEDALS AND CERTIFICATES TO WINNERS OF HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP IN SRINAGAR

Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, former MLA of Khadoor Sahib and Chairman of Punjab Rural Development Society (PRDS) presided over a prize distribution function as chief guest at Nagin club at Srinagar on Friday.

The function was held to give away prizes to the winners of Hockey matches of under 14, junior players. Viz., Saqib Farooq, Mudasir Gulzar, Shaid Farooq, Wasim Javed, Sehraan Zahoor, Reyan Zahoor, Mohd Yusha Nabi. Brahmpura was extended warm welcome by Jenab Mubarak Gul, former Speaker of Jammu & Kashmir assembly and Jenab Raja Gulam Nabi Wani, Chairman J&K Hockey Academy. 

(MOREPIC1)The winners of sub players Hockey championship were awarded gold medals and certificates of appreciation. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, addressing the players, further encouraged them to take part in games and sports besides extra curriculum activities to win laurels for themselves and their states.

“Games and sports make a person more balanced and composed. We learn team work, discipline, dedication to our work and develop a spirit of competition. We stay healthy and fit by playing games and sports and only a sound body does have a sound mind,”Brahmpura said.

He also motivated the players to sit in the competition examination for the civil services so that they can serve the society and country as well.

Brahmpura also thanked Jenab Mubarak Gul, the former speaker and all his team for promoting the sports in the state and also assured them that such tournaments would also be organized by the PRDS, an NGO in Punjab also.

Jenab Mubarak Gul stated that the games and sports becomes more important at a time when youth is falling in the trap of drug addiction. Sports would help them stay away from drugs,he said.

Other prominent personalities were also present on the occasion namely, Ms. Tahira Akhtar Secretary Downtown, Jb. Shabir president star hockey club, Jb. Zahoor Ahmed Secretary Sunlight hockey club including Yunis Mubarak Gul and Kanwar Sandhu Brahmpura. 

On this occasion Damanjeet Singh, Secretary General of PRDS , was also present.
