Chandigarh. Congress student wing NSUI won the Panjab University student union elections. NSUI's Jatinder Singh secured 3002 votes. CYSS's Divyansh Thakur got 2399 votes while ABVP's Rakesh Deshwal came third with 2182 votes.

Out of the total 15,693 votes10,323  were cast in the elections, means means a total of 66 percent voting took place. Ranmikjot Kaur of Sath got 4084 votes for the post of Vice President. Ranmikjot Kaur won this seat by a margin of 765 votes. Independent candidate Anurag Vardhan got 3319 votes in second place. The third position was held by Gaurav Chauhan of ISA who got 1087 votes.

Deepak Goyat belongs to a freedom fighter family. Deepak's grandfather, Mani Ram Goyat, has been a fighter of Azad Hind Fauj of Netaji Subhash Chand Bose. Deepak is originally a resident of Narad village of Kaithal. Who is currently living in Panchkula with his family. Megha Nayyar of SOPU got 2158 votes at third place. PUHH's Gaurav Chahal secured 3140 votes for the post of Joint Secretary. Gaurav won by 103 votes. The second position was held by Dikit Paldon of HPSU who got 3037 votes. Dheeraj Garg of PUSU stood third with 1983 votes.
