Vijay Luxmi Bhadoo, former state president of BJP Mahila Morcha and ex chairperson Punjab Social Welfare Board, emphasised the need to save youth from falling prey to drugs.

Speaking as chief guest at DAV College Auditorium, she said that no government has lived up to the claims of making Punjab drug-free. Drug shops are open in urban and rural localities. The young generation is getting ruined due to drugs. Most of the laborers in villages work after consuming intoxicating pills. They do not earn so much daily wage that they spend it on sedative pills. Effective steps will have to be taken to change this situation.
