NSS DAY CELEBERATION, STATE NSS AWARD FUNCTION HELD, ADVISOR TO UT ADMIN HONOURED NSS VOLUNTEERS

Chandigarh NSS Cell organized programme of NSS Day Celebration and State NSS Award Function. Shri Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh was Chief Gust of the function. Mrs. Harinder Kaur, Regional Director NSS, Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GOI was Guest of Honor and Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, Director, School Education, Chandigarh Administration was Special Guest.

Programme started with lightning of Lamp by Chief Guest and Ganesh Vandana. Dr.Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer NSS UT Chandigarh welcome the Chief Gust and other Gusts. He also highlighted the achievements of NSS in last one year.

He also highlighted the achievements of NSS in last one year. The Chief Gust felicitated two NSS Units, 12 NSS Programme officers and 10 NSS volunteers for meritorious community services. Each NSS Unit and Programme officer awarded with shield, Certificate and Cash Award of Rs 10,000. Each NSS volunteer awarded with Medal, Certificate and cash award of Rs 5000.

The Chief Gust felicitated two NSS Units, 12 NSS Programme officers and 10 NSS volunteers for meritorious community services. The Advisor, in his address, congratulated the awardees and appreciated the efforts of Chandigarh NSS Cell, acknowledged the contribution of NSS Programme officers and volunteers in serving the Society. He urged that volunteers and programme officers serve the society and humanity with motto ‘Not Me But You’.

NSS Volunteers have significant role in character building and nation building and every student should take part in NSS activities. He motivated the volunteers, programme officers and head of the institutions. Volunteers of PGGCG-42 Performed Ladhakhi Dance, Himachali Nati, Rajasthani Dance and Bangra. NSS Volunteers of GSSS-38 West performed NSS Song. 800 NSS Volunteers, 150 Programme officers and 80 Principals also attended the function.
