DELHI POLICE BUSTED INTERSTATE DRUG CARTEL, THREE AMONG WOMAN ARRESTED

A TOTAL OF 144,904 TABLETS OF TRAMADOL, 52,200 TABLETS OF ALPRAZOLAM, 348 BOTTLES OF CODEINE-BASED SYRUP, AND 1600 INJECTIONS OF PENTAZOCINE, WORTH MORE THAN RS. 10 CRORE IN THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET, RECOVERED.  THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT DROP IN DRUG ABUSE IN DELHI/NCR SINCE THE ARREST OF THESE DRUG PEDDLERS.

A team of Special Cell/SWR, under the supervision of ACsP Sh. Sanjay Dutt and Sh. Sunil Kumar, has arrested three key members of the interstate drug syndicate, namely (1) Md. Faizan Beg s/o Nafees Beg r/o Kardampuri, Delhi, age 23 years; (2) Md. Zubair s/o Abdul Rasheed r/o Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, age 26 years; and (3) Ms. Rekha d/o Rajbal Ram r/o Baba Kharag Singh Marg, Delhi, age 29 years. They have been involved in supplying contraband drugs for the last five years.

  Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh, IPS, DCP, Special Cell, cell, that there was information with the team of Inspr. Manender Singh, Insp. Sunil Kumar, and Insp. Neeraj Kumar about a drug syndicate operated by Md. Faizan Beg and his associate Zubair. The team members further developed the information through manual and technical surveillance, and it came out that both Md. Faizan Beg and Zubair are involved in the procurement of contraband drugs from Delhi/NCR and other neighbouring states and supply the same to their associates spread across many states.

Faizan Beg and Zubair are involved in the procurement of contraband drugs from Delhi/NCR and other neighbouring states and supply the same to their associates spread across many states.

On 06/10/2023, at about 11:30 AM, specific information was received that Md. Faizan Beg would procure a large consignment of contraband drugs from East of Kailash and would deliver the same to his associate near Kardampuri, Delhi, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Accordingly, a team led by Inspr. Manender Singh, consisting of Inspr. Neeraj Kumar, ASI Pradeep, ASI Prem Parkash, ASI Rajesh Rana, ASI Resham Singh, HC Amit, HC Sumit, HC Hemant Joshi, HC Ravi, HC Manish, HC Mukesh Kumar, HC Ravinder, and Ct. Vijay, was formed to apprehend the drug peddlers. Thereafter, a raid was conducted at Captain Gaur Marg, East of Kailash, Delhi, and Mohammad Faizan Beg was apprehended. On search, a large consignment of psychotropic drugs was recovered from the auto-rickshaw hired by him. Further, a huge quantity of drugs was also recovered on his instance from his house at Kardampuri, Delhi.

RECOVERY FROM THE POSSESSION OF ACCUSED MD. FAIZAN BEG:  300 bottles (100 ml each) of Corex syrups containing the psychotropic substance ‘Codeine’.,  43200 capsules of SPASMAXX containing the psychotropic substance ‘Tramadol’., 28800 capsules of Proxywel Spas containing ‘Tramadol’. 5904 capsules of Proxyvon Plus containing ‘Tramadol’.,  52800 Alprazolam tablets., 1600 Pentozocine Injections.

Accordingly, a case under the provisions of NDPS Act was registered at PS Special Cell in this regard, and investigation was taken up. 

During course of investigation, Faizan’s associate and supplier of contraband drugs, Zubair, was arrested in the case. On search, 67,000 tablets of TRAMANAM-SR 100, containing the contraband substance 'Tramadol', were recovered from his house at Indrapuram, Ghaziabad, UP.

During further operation, their third associate, namely Ms. Rekha, was apprehended from East of Kailash, Delhi, and 48 bottles of Corex syrup were recovered from her rented premises at Sant Nagar, Delhi. Further, some incriminating documents were also recovered from her.

PROFILE AND INTERROGATION OF ACCUSED MD. FAIZAN BEG

Accused Mohammad Faizan Beg (age 22) completed his schooling from Loni Inter College, Ghaziabad, UP, in 2019. Thereafter, he started working as a salesman at various shops. When he was working at a pharmacy shop, he learned about the illegal trade of psychotropic drugs and controlled medicines. In 2021, he met co-accused Zubair in the Loni area, who was a big supplier of contraband substances including Tramadol, Alprazolam, and other such drugs. Thereafter, he started procuring contraband drugs from Zubair every week and began supplying these drugs to different consumers. He further disclosed that Zubair used to procure contraband drugs from the Aligarh market in large quantities.

PROFILE AND INTERROGATION OF ACUSED ZUBAIR

He was born in 1997 in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, and completed his schooling from a local Inter College in 2014. Thereafter, he completed his B.Com. from a college in Kasganj, UP, in 2017. He learned about the illegal trade of contraband drugs from one Naved of Kasganj. Soon, he started his own business of procurement and supply of such drugs. He used to procure these drugs from various people and medical stores in Aligarh and Agra. He was also arrested in a case of illegal trade of contraband at PS Kasganj, UP, in 2022.

PROFILE AND INTERROGATION OF ACCUSED MS. REKHA:

Accused Rekha (age 29) completed her graduation from Delhi University. After her graduation, she started working with a medicine shop in the name and style of Pratham Enterprise, Sant Nagar, Delhi. Then she, along with one Govind Jaiswal, started a firm under the name and style of RJ Enterprises, and eventually, due to the sale of contraband medicines without invoices, her license was cancelled by the drug control department.

About 8 months ago, she met Md. Faizan Beg through one Rajkumar and started supplying the contraband to him. The five cartons of contraband ‘Tramadol’ and ‘Codeine’, which were recovered from the possession of Md. Faizan Beg on October 6, 2023, were supplied to him by her. She used to procure these medicines from various people and medicine shops. She was running this illegal trade under the garb of sale/purchase license issued in the name of Vaishnav Pharma.

Further investigation of the case is in progress.
