3.5 KG HEROIN RECOVERED, FIVE HELD

The police have nabbed five drug smugglers and have recovered 3.5 kg heroin in two separate cases.

While divulging details, Deepak Hilori SSP said that the police had received the inputs that the accused identified as Anmol Singh and Anurag alias Saggu, both residents of Warian village in Makhu block, were involved in drug smuggling. “A raid was conducted near Talwandi Bhai area from where the accused were arrested and 2 kg heroin was recovered from them”, said SSP.

The accused were booked under NDPS Act at Talwandi Bhai police station (FIR No. 70 Dated 16.11.2023).

In other case, three smugglers identified as Shinderpal Singh alias Shinder resident of Ruhela Haji, Malkit Singh alias Keerat resident of Lakha Singh Hithar and Sonu resident of Nihala Kilcha in Mamdot area, were nabbed near a naka laid by police near the t-point area near Mamdot on Ferozepur-Fazilka highway while they were coming on a car (White colour, Suzuki Celerio without number).

The SSP said that during the checking of the car, the police recovered 1.5 kg heroin following which the accused were booked under 21,61,85 of NDPS Act at Mamdot police station (FIR No. 169 Dated 17.11.2023).
