MOUNT CARMELITES CELEBERATED 36TH ANNUAL CUM FOUNDERS DAY WITH FERVOR AND EXUBERANCE

Mount Carmelites celebrated 36th Annual-cum- Founders Day with fervor and exuberance, under the able guidance and support of the Founders and Directors, Dr. Earnest Charles J.Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel, Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh celebrated its 36th Annual-cum-Founders Day on the theme ‘One World One Family One Future’ at Tagore Theatre testified by the enthusiasm that was palpable not only among the students but also the audience.

The Chief Guest of Slot -3 was Ms. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR and the Guest of Honour was Ms. Navjeet Klair-, Chief Judicial Magistrate- Cum - Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, U.T, Chandigarh . The other dignitaries who graced the occasion in Slot -1 and 2 of the function were Mr. Sukhjit Singh Rana, Deputy Inspector General of Police,Central Reserve Police Force, North West Sector, Chandigarh, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police, UT, Chandigarh and Lt. General Sudesh Kumar, AVSM, VSM Commandant, School of Artillery, Deolali. 

The event commenced with the enunciation of an auspicious verse from the holy Bible followed by a welcome speech by the Head Boy. The programme comprised of Welcome Dance filled with hues and vibrant foot tapping moves, Ravishing Russian Dance, Alluring Ballet Dance, Energetic German Dance, Vigorous Chinese Dance, Exuberant BTS Dance, Fascinating African Dance, Fantabulous Bhangra and Medley by the Senior Choir perfectly synchronizing in rhythm. Gushing with mirth, the school’s achievements were shared through the annual report of the past session followed by the Prize Distribution.

The Founders and Directors, Dr. Annie Charles Samuel & Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, along with the Principal, Dr. Parveena John Singh, did the honour of bestowing numerous and varied awards upon the deserving students. This fortifies Mount Carmel’s policy of nurturing and honoring the deserving students. The climax of the evening that enraptured the audience was the Finale on the theme ‘One World One Family One Future’ highlighting the ultimate dream to have ‘One World One Nation One Hope’ become a reality.

The Chief Guest Ms. Shipra Bansal in her address highlighted the idea of working together to create a brighter future. The programme enthralled everyone and the audience was awestruck with the talent the skills exhibited in each performance. The function proved to be an astounding visual treat that allured every spectator connected to the show. The event came to a close with a vote of thanks and rendering of the National Anthem. 

The Principal, Dr. Parveena John Sign applauded the incredible efforts of all the stakeholders involved in making the event a grand success and spoke at length about the plethora of opportunities offered by Mount Carmel School. 

On this occasion, the Chief Guest felicitated the students for their achievements. 43 students were awarded the Best All-round Students’ trophies for the session 2022-23. 

The Rolling trophy for the Best House in Athletics & the Best House on Duty for the year were awarded to Shakespeare House. Mrs. & Rev. Samuel John Memorial Rolling trophy for the Best House of the year was also awarded to Shakespeare House. Mrs. Surinder Bala memorial Rolling trophy for the Most Active Club of the year was bagged by Art & Craft Club.

The Shining Star Trophies for outstanding performances in various fields as mentioned, were awarded to Avleen Kaur of class II-B (Oratory), Pranjal Ohri of class II-C (Art & Craft), Bhavleen Kaur of class V-C, Ritisha Sinha of class XI-D & Vinamr Kapoor of class VIII-D (Fine Arts), Alwin K. Vincent of class I-A, Joravar Singh of class V-C, Sam Masih of class X-D & Sukhmandeep Singh of class IX-E (Music), Srija Malik of class I-A & Rapunzel of class V-C (Dance), Aarav Aggarwal of class I-C, Nikunj Aroa of class IV-C, Gaurika Bains of class III-C, Aditi Lohia of class IX-B, Gurseerat Kaur of class VIII-D, Kripa Bansal of class XII-C, Naaz of class IX-C, Marya Bhardwaj of class VII-B & Jainish Tanwar of class IX-B (Sports), Harnidh Singh of class IV-D & Abhiraj of class XII-D (Theatre), Vihaan Gupta of class V-C, Saanvi Gandhi of class X-D and Tejal Chauhan of VII-D (Literary Activities), Khushagar Mahajan of class V-C, Harshvir Singh Bains of X-D & Himanshi Anand of VII-A (I.T.), 

Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Foundational Years (Classes Pre-Nursery to II) were bagged by class K.G-C, Class II-A and Class II-B respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Primary Wing (Classes III to V) were bagged by class V-B, class IV-A and class V-A respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Middle Wing (Classes VI to VIII) were bagged by class VII-A, class VI-D & class VI-B respectively. Rolling Trophies for the Most Disciplined Class, Best Dressed Class & the Best Kept Class from the Senior Wing (Classes IX to XII) were bagged by class XII-B, class IX-A and class IX-B respectively. 

Jonathan Ivan Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the school (Juniors) in cultural activities was bagged by ­­­Vihaan Gupta of Class V-C. Jefferson Samuel Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the school (Seniors) in cultural activities was bagged by ­­­Ritisha Sinha of Class XI-D.Mrs. Poonam Bhatt Rolling trophy for the Best All-round student of the School was also bagged by ­­­Ritisha Sinha of Class XI-D. 

The Rolling trophy for the Best House in Athletics & the Best House on Duty for the year were awarded to Shakespeare House. Mrs. & Rev. Samuel John Memorial Rolling trophy for the Best House of the year was also awarded to Shakespeare House. Mrs. Surinder Bala memorial Rolling trophy for the Most Active Club of the year was bagged by Art & Craft Club.

Dr. Annie Charles Samuel & Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel Rolling Trophy for the highest aggregate marks scored by the student of the School in the Class XII CBSE Examinations conducted in March 2023 was bagged by Harsh Nautiyal, who scored 96.6% marks. 53 students were awarded for scoring 90% and above marks in the CBSE Board Examiantion-2023. The staff members who served the Institution for more than 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years were also honoured on this occasion.
