PATWARI BOOKED FOR TAKING BRIBE

The vigilance bureau have booked a revenue official identified as Subhash Chander for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 1500/-. The erring official has been posted as Patwari at Halqa Mullianwali in Fazilka district. 

While divulging more details, the VB officials said that the bureau had received an online complaint from one Jagjit Singh a resident of Fazilka on CM Anti Corruption Action Line. The complainant had alleged in his complaint that the above said Patwari had been demanding bribe of Rs 500 to issue copy of mutation of his land. 

The complainant further alleged that the accused Patwari had already obtained Rs 1,500 as bribe from him to issue copies of “Fard” in this case. The complainant also made recording of demand raised by the accused Patwari to take bribes and submitted to the VB as an evidence. 

The VB official said that the VB range Ferozepur investigated the complaint and found the allegations as true and correct. “On the basis of this report, a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the said accused at VB police station Ferozepur range and further investigation of this case was under progress”, said VB official.
