FUGITIVE NO MORE: IGIA TEAM APPREHENDED ABSCONDING PUNJAB BASED LADY AGENT, JUSTICE PREVAILS AFTER 15 YEARS , LONG AWAITED CAPTURE, PO INVOLVED IN 2009 CASE, HUSBAND WAS ALSO INVOLVED IN THE CASE & WAS ALSO DECLARED PO – ARRESTED EARLIER, FACILITATING FRADULENT TRAVEL TO CANADA WITH FAKE VISA

Staff of IGI Airport arrested one Proclaimed Offender lady namely Rajvinder @ Raj Kaur W/o Sukhdev Singh R/o Village-Daburji, PS-Dharamkot, Distt-Moga, Punjab Age 57 yrs, who was declared PO in Case FIR No 310/09 U/s 420/468/471/120B IPC & 12 PP Act Dt 25-07-2009 PS IGI Airport.

 The facts of the case are that in the intervening night of 24/25.07.2009, one pax namely Gurdish Singh S/o Gurbaksh Singh R/o VPO-Datta, Distt-Moga, Punjab arrived at IGI Airport, Delhi from China. During scrutiny of his travel documents, a fake Canadian Visa was found affixed on his passport. As the pax cheated Indian immigration by travelling on fake Canadian Visa, a case FIR No 310/09 U/s 420/468/471/120B IPC & 12 PP Act Dt 25-07-2009 PS IGI Airport was registered accordingly and investigation was taken up. 

Usha Rangnai, IPS, DCP, IGI Airport said, IGI Airport, said, during course of investigation of the case, pax Gurdish Singh was arrested in the case. On interrogation, he disclosed that in July 2009, he departed to China on genuine Visa. In Beijing, one agent Ashok, along with the help of his associates, had arranged fake Canadian Visa on his passport in the lieu of Rs 15 lakhs. On further investigation of the case, names of the associates of the agent were surfaced as Sukhdev Singh and his wife namely Rajwinder @ Raj Kaur.

Efforts were made to nab the agent and his associates at that time but they remained at large. During further course of investigation, agent Ashok, Sukhdev Singh & Rajvinder @ Raj Kaur were declared absconder/Proclaimed offender in the case by the Hon’ble Court in the year 2012 & 2013 respectively. PO chargesheet was filed against all the absconders in the case.

In lookout of the absconder lady, technical surveillance was mounted over her and raids were conducted at different locations in Punjab & other areas but accused lady was continuously changing her locations.

With the help of local intelligence, it was revealed that accused lady was coming to New Delhi by a train. Thereafter, all the staff were deployed at New Delhi Railway Station and she was regularly monitored through technical surveillance. After thorough search of trains, the accused lady Rajvinder Kaur W/o Sukhdev Singh R/o Village-Daburji, PS-Dharamkot, Distt-Moga, Punjab Age 57 yrs was finally nabbed on the basis of the available photograph and arrested in the case.

The accused lady was interrogated, who confessed her guilt and disclosed that she is illiterate and was residing in one of her hideout in Punjab. She further disclosed that in this case, she along with the help of her husband and associate Ashok, had taken Rs 15 lakhs from pax for arranging fake Canadian Visa on his passport and distributed the amount among them.

The husband of the accused lady namely Sukhdev Singh was also declared absconder in this case, who was arrested earlier in the case. Accused Ashok is still at large in the case. Investigation of the case is in progress to scrutinize bank accounts of the accused lady and to trace her possible involvement in other similar complaints/cases also.
