TWO SHOOTERS AFFILIATED WITH LAWRENCE BISHNOI AND ASIM ALIAS HASHIM BABA GANG NABBED AFTER EXCHANGE OF FIRE

SWIFT OPERATION LEADS TO ARRESTS IN EXTORTION AND SHOOTING INCIDENTS, RECOVERY OF 2 SOPHISTICATED PISTOLS, 9 LIVE CARTRIDGES, AND A SCOOTY. ASSAILANTS FIRED UPON POLICE PARTY, SUSTAINED BULLET INJURIES IN RETALIATION, AND WERE SUCCESSFULLY APPREHENDED

In a commendable display of bravery and swift action, a team of the Inter State Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi, led by Insp Pankaj Malik, accompanied by Insp Rohit Kumar, SI Roopesh Baliyan, HCs Gajendra Singh & Narendra Bhardwaj, and CTs Dinesh Kumar and Ravinder Kumar, under the supervision of ACP Ramesh Chander Lamba, and overall supervision of Sh. Amit Goel, DCP/Crime, launched a successful operation resulting in the apprehension of two shooters affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Asim @ Hashim Baba gang. 

The operation was initiated based on actionable intelligence to trace culprits involved in an incessant firing case registered vide FIR no. 157/24 u/s 336/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act at PS Bhajanpura, Delhi. This incident, which posed a significant threat to public safety, stemmed from an earlier extortion attempt targeting a businessman of Karol Bagh area residing in Yamuna Vihar, Delhi, regarding which an extortion case vide FIR no. 484/23 u/s 387/506 IPC registered at PS Bhajanpura, Delhi.

Additionally, the assailants are also involved in a recently registered case vide FIR No. 154/24, u/s 336 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act of PS Jagatpuri, Delhi, involving the incessant firing on the main gate of a businessman in the Geeta Colony area of Delhi.

On the night of February 21st and 22nd, 2024, a meticulously planned trap was laid on the road passes through the forest area of Yamuna Khadar, Garhi Mendu, Delhi. Equipped with necessary arms, ammunition, and bulletproof jackets, the team embarked on their assignment, demonstrating unwavering determination to uncover vital leads and apprehend the perpetrators.

Two assailants namely Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan r/o New Seelampur, Delhi, Age 30 years and Danish @ Sultan @ Pappu r/o Welcome, Delhi, Age 26 years, were intercepted near the Forest office, Garhi Mendu, New Usmanpur, Delhi, while en route to Burari on a scooty (without a number plate), believed to be used in the aforementioned firing incident.

During the confrontation, the assailants opened fire detecting the presence of the police, posing a grave threat to the raiding team. A bullet struck the bulletproof jacket worn by HC Gajendra Singh, while another narrowly missed Insp Rohit Kumar.

In self defence, the police team, including HC Gajendra Singh and Ct. Dinesh Kumar, returned fire, resulting in both assailants sustaining bullet injuries on their legs. This action successfully incapacitated them. Subsequently, the wounded assailants were swiftly admitted to the hospital for medical treatment.

During the operation, the police recovered 2 sophisticated pistols, 9 live cartridges, 2 fired cartridges, and the scooty used by the suspects while committing the incessant firing incident, thereby preventing potential future criminal activities. In light of these events, a case vide FIR No. 40/24 has been registered against both assailants u/s 307/186/353/34 IPC r/w 25/27 Arms Act at PS Crime Branch, highlighting the severity of their actions.

INTERROGATION:-MrSanjay Bhatia, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Crime. said, the interrogation with the accused Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan has provided crucial insights into organized crime networks and their modus operandi. Born in 1996 into a modest family background, Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan's descent into criminal activities began after discontinuing his education post-high school. His association with illicit activities escalated rapidly, marked by instances of drug abuse and involvement in serious offenses.

The trajectory of Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan's criminal history includes:

• In 2016, he was implicated in a robbery and attempted murder case in the Welcome area, resulting in a brief imprisonment of 7-8 months. • The following year, he was apprehended by police for possession of an illegal firearm and was also involved in another attempted murder case. • During the period of 2016-2017, he forged an alliance with the notorious bookie Nitin @ Susu Jain, who has been residing in

Dubai for the past few years. Jain's influence and connections in criminal circles have played a pivotal role in orchestrating nefarious activities, including targeted violence.

Recent events leading to the apprehension of Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan shed light on the intricate workings of organized crime. Manipulated by Susu Jain's promises of financial support and introductions to notorious criminal Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba, Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan succumbed to the allure of illicit activities.

Under Susu Jain's directives, Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan, accompanied by Danish @ Sultan @ Pappu, perpetrated targeted shootings in residential areas of Yamuna Vihar and Geeta Colony (Jagatpuri). Their actions, characterized by audacious midnight assaults, underscore the brazenness of organized crime syndicates. However, their attempts to evade law enforcement were thwarted when they encountered police during their escape to Burari through the forest. In a desperate bid to escape, they resorted to gunfire, resulting in their eventual apprehension.

PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENTS:-

Notably, Amir @ Saleem @ Tillan is involved in 6 criminal cases ranging from robbery to attempt to murder to Arms Act, while Danish @ Sultan @ Pappu is involved in 2 cases of riot and Arms Act. Additionally, the assailants confessed to commit a recently registered firing case vide FIR No. 154/24, u/s 336 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act of PS Jagatpuri, Delhi, involving the incessant firing on the main gate of a businessman in the Geeta Colony area of Delhi.
