^{Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi Police, in a robust strategy with a clear mandate of “NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN”, conducted a series of meticulously planned operations across Delhi/NCR comprising of team of Inspr. Virendra Singh, SI Satwant Singh, ASI Sanjay, HC Parnam, HC Vinod, HC Anand, Ct Bijender, Ct Ravi Kumar and W/Ct. Shikha Singh under the supervision of Sh. Pawan Kumar, ACP/Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi and close supervision Sh. Rakesh Paweriya, DCP/Crime, Delhi and overall supervision of Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Addl. C.P./Crime.}

^{Inputs were being received regularly about the presence of Interstate Drug peddlers operating in the area Delhi/NCR targeting the local people as well as foreign nationals visiting the area. This was tarnishing the image of India and bringing a bad name. A unique strategy was adopted by the Cyber Cell, Crime Branch, Delhi by deploying its sleuths posing as vendors in the infested area. The 20 days long operation yielded the desired result. The team nabbed a desperate drug supplier namely Akhil Dass and bust an interstate supply network of contraband Heroin. 1.1 KG fine quality of Heroin was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case under sections of NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi and the investigation was taken up.}

^{OPERATION AND TEAM}

^{On 24.04.2024, acting upon information provided by a source, a trap was laid at near Red light, Road No. 316, Mangolpuri Industrial area, DTC Bus Terminal near Petrol Pump, Delhi to apprehend one Akhil Dass, who was actively involved in the supply of drugs/psychotropic substances in Delhi/NCR area. He was apprehended from Mangolpuri Industrial area, Delhi, while he came in a car to supply Heroin (Narcotics & psychotropic substances) to someone in bulk quantity.}

^{On searching his bag, a polythene pouch containing a light pink color powdery substance was found. A minute quantity of powder was checked with the help of field-testing kit and it was found to be Heroin. The weight of Heroin was found to be 1097 grams.}

On his instance, a lady supplier namely Meena r/o Shankar Vihar, Loni, UP Age-43 Yrs was also arrested and 100 grams Heroin recovered from her possession.

^RECOVERY:  1.2 KG fine quality heroin worth over rupees 2 crores in international market recovered from arrested persons..  One Hyundai Accent Car was recovered, which was being used for supplying of contraband in the area of Delhi/NCR.

^{PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS}

Accused Akhil Dass was born in the year 1966 and his father was a navy officer. He graduated from Delhi and started work as a share broker in Share Market. In the year 1992-93, he came in the contact with one Rajbala due to addiction of smack/heroin and started residing with her. Thereafter, he worked with Rajbala to supply drugs in Delhi NCR. In the year 2002, he was arrested by N.C.B./DELHI with Rajbala. In the year 2006, he was again arrested by Narcotics Cell of Delhi Police with illegal drugs. On 25.05.2010, on the basis of specific tip, he was again arrested with Nigerian Citizen.

In jail, he came in contact with one Irfan @ Lala r/o Madhya Pradesh having links in Rajasthan, MP and Bareilly and after coming out from the jail, he started trafficking of drugs in Delhi/NCR after arranging the same from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan/Madhya Pradesh Border.

During interrogation, accused Meena disclosed that she used to procure contraband from one Kallu r/o Mangolpuri. Her husband is a habitual drug addict. She met Kallu through her husband and later started supplying drug to the other drug peddlers. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
