ECI’s General Observer for Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency, G Lakshmikanth Reddy, IAS, visited Fazilka and reviewed the election preparations here.
He said that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) should be strictly implemented and all the election preparations should be completed according to the schedule given as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal informed him about the election preparations. She said that the four Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the district fall in the Lok Sabha constituency of Ferozepur. 12 FST and 12 SST teams are functioning in the district. MCC is being strictly enforced. SSP Dr. Pragya Jain informed about the security arrangements and said that drugs and drug money worth Rs. 43.85 crores were seized in the district.

ADC General cum Additional District Election Officer Rakesh Kumar Popli briefed the election observer about the SVEEP activities and other voter awareness programmes in the district. ADC Development cum ARO Balluana Amarinder Singh Malhi, SDM Abohar Pankaj Bansal, SDM Fazilka Vipan Bhandari, SDM Jalalabad were also present.
The observer also wrote a message to the signature board fixed in the district administrative complex to motivate the voters to cast their votes and also saw an exhibition about the SVEEP activities.
