An innocent child of a village was blind by birth. His eyes were affected by cataract. The family took him to Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College Hospital and Research Center (Jan Seva Hospital) Sriganganagar. A team of doctors operated on the child's eyes and brought sight to his eyes. When he saw his mother for the first time, the faces of the family members lit up.

Dr. Pawar's team performed laser operation on the right eye of the child in 8 to 10 minutes and installed an imported Alcon IQ lens. The next day the bandage was opened and the child saw his mother for the first time. The family’s joys knew no bounds. Eye surgery on a child of such an age is a rare case. All this treatment was done at very concessional rates.

CAO of the hospital, Prof. Baljit Singh Kuldiya said that a resident of village 11-Q came to get his five-month-old son examined. The child was blind by birth. During investigation, Dr. Arun C. Pawar found that the child was suffering from cataract. He consulted his team and decided to operate immediately. The team included Dr. Sonali and Dr. Lalit.

According to Dr. Pawar, if the mother is not properly vaccinated during pregnancy, there is a possibility of harm to the child due to the Torch virus. Even if the newborn does not get good treatment on time, the child's vision may also become skewed. The child's left eye will also be operated on soon, he said.

While performing the operation, paediatric specialist Dr. Inderdeep Singh Kochhar carried out initial checking. Then, Dr. Ravinder Sharma arranged special equipment from Jaipur. Anaesthesiologists Dr. Anandini and Dr. Ashish were the key supporters.
