Cops were probing local links of the Delhi based Tillu Tajpuriya gang’s 20-year-old sharpshooter Sagar alias Shanker who was recently arrested for killing Gogi gang’s henchman Narinder Malik in a shootout in Alipur area on April 22.
Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused in the Rohini court shootout, was brutally murdered in Delhi's Tihar jail by four rival gangsters who stabbed him 40 times with a needle. Tillu's murder was thought to be retaliation for the gangster Jitendra Gogi's murder.
Anti-Gangster Task Force, Delhi Crime Branch and Hanumangarh District Special Team (DST) led by Inspector Tejwant Singh in a joint action, arrested Sagar resident of village Lath, Sonipat after an encounter in Sabuana village near Tibbi. The hardcore criminal was admitted to Hanumangarh Civil Hospital after he was shot in the leg in the firing from both sides.
Police said that inputs were received from the Crime Branch of Delhi Police that Sagar alias Shankar, the wanted criminal of gang war murder in Alipur, Delhi, was hiding in Sangria or Tibbi police station area of Hanumangarh district.
Hanumangarh SP Vikas Sangwan was informed about the identity and suspected staying place of wanted criminal Sagar alias Shankar. Also, AGTF's Additional Superintendent of Police Vidya Prakash and Inspectors Sunil Jangid and Ravinder Pratap Singh were deployed for coordination.
A cordon was laid by AGTF Rajasthan, Delhi Crime Branch and DST to arrest Sagar alias Shankar in Sabuana of Tibbi police station area on Monday. Meanwhile, the accused started firing in which a Delhi Police jawan was shot, but his life was saved because he was wearing a bullet proof jacket. In retaliation, cops opened fire and the accused Sagar alias Shankar was injured, he was shot in the leg. The team surrounded and caught him. The accused has now been admitted to the Civil Hospital Hanumangarh for treatment. Heavy police force has been deployed there.
