BSF NABBED TWO WITH ONE KG HEROIN, HANDED OVER TO POLICE

The vigilant troops belonging to 116 batallion of BSF have nabbed a father-son duo and recovered one kg heroin from them.

While divulging details, the BSF officials said that specific inputs had been received regarding a consignment discovered in the agricultural fields near Bhanewala village, situated near the international border Sunday night at around 11.30 pm.

The BSF official said that before the BSF troops could reach the spot and recover the consignment, it was retrieved by the accused identified as Jassa Singh (27) and his father Jagdish Singh (50), both residents of Chandiwala village. "Both the accused were nabbed and during the checking of their tractor, two packets of heroin weighing one kg along with three mobile phones were recovered, which were concealed in the hood pocket of the tractor", said BSF official adding that the consignment was sent with the help of a drone.

After the preliminary investigation, the accused were handed over to the police.
