MBM Alumni Association paid tribute to Major Bhupender Singh on his martyrdom day today by garlanding his statue in Sriganganagar. Two minutes of silence was observed to remember him. Along with members of the Association (1971-2022 batch), Banshidhar Jindal, PM Jasuja, Fateh Singh, OP Garg, Ram Chander Madaan, Birbal Jakhar, Nebhraj Adlakha, Arun Arora, Prem Sunder Agarwal, Dayaram Bailan, Dheeraj Chawla, KC Madaan and Praveen Gehlot were present.
It was decided to organise various programs every year on the martyrdom day of Major Bhupender Singh. It may be recalled that Major Bhupender Singh, a resident of Mohanpura, got primary education in the village. After completing higher secondary from the local Khalsa School, he took admission in MBB Engineering College Jodhpur.
He fought the terrorists in 1994 while performing every risky and complex task with courage and bravery. He attained martyrdom after being kidnapped. He was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his indomitable courage and bravery. Remembering him, his friends became very emotional.
Along with his Bachelor of Engineering graduation course in civil, he was also active in activities like NCC, sports and athletics. After his degree, he joined the army as per his interest. After various commissioned ranks in a short time, he became a Major.
