SIX BOOKED FOR ILLEGAL SAND MINING, FIVE TRACTORS AND POKELANE MACHINE RECOVERED

The police has booked six persons besides few unidentified and have recovered five tractors of illegal sand along with one pokelane machine.

While divulging details, Karan Sharma DSP (Rural) that following the inputs regarding illegal mining, a raid had been conducted near Kabbar Vaccha village in Ghall Khurd block.

(SUBHEAD)The DSP said that the accused identified as Sukhpreet Singh resident of Khukhrana village in Moga, Gurvir Singh resident of Valtoha village in Mallanwala block, Jaswinder resident Jhoke Tehal Singh in Lakho ke Behram block, Jagdish Malli of Sudh Singh Wala village in Mallanwala block, Gurjant Singh Janta resident of Ghall Khurd, were doing illegal mining in the fields. “When we reached there, the accused fled from the spot and left the pokelane machine and five tractor trailers of sand there”, said Sharma.

The DSP said that the accused have been booked under sections 303 (2) of BNS besides section 21 of Mining and Mineral Act at Ghall Khurd police station (FIR No. 10).

“A hunt has been launched to nab the accused”, said DSP
