The team of Special Staff, South District has done commendable work by arresting 02 gamblers namely Ayan and Nizam @ Bhutto placing online bet on the cricket match between Indian and Pakistan on 23.2.2025 in case FIR No. 147/25, dt. 24.02.25 U/s 3/4 Gambling Act PS Malviya Nagar. Upon their instance, 01 LED TV, 01 laptop, 06 mobile phones & chargers, 01 calculator, register and cash Rs.16,210/- were recovered.
To curb the organized crime i.e. gambling/bootlegging in the area of South District, traps were mounted at the vulnerable areas for prevention. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. They were also directed to keep vigil over the Jail/Bail released as well as parole released criminals and thoroughly scanned about them who were suspected to be involved in any type of criminals activities. Further, several teams were deployed for patrolling in the area at vulnerable points and to check suspicious persons.
INFORMATION, TEAM & ARREST:- In this sequence, HC Sandeep Kumar posted in Special Staff, South District collected some result oriented key inputs through his manual information network. In the intervening night of 23/24.02.2025, HC Sandeep Kumar got a specific input about a Cricket Betting Racket being organized from a house located in the area of Malviya Nagar. Hence, a team of Special Staff/South District comprising of SI Naveen, HC Sandeep, HC Praveen, HC Akshay, HC Narendra, HC Rakesh Ct Ashok Kumar, Ct Khoichung B. Aimol led by I/C, Special Staff/SD under the supervision of ACP/OPS South District, was formed to take prompt action.
Accordingly, the information was further developed and local enquiry of area was conducted. After confirming the credibility of the intelligence, the team conducted a raid at the House B-Block, IInd Floor, Panchsheel Vihar, Malviya Nagar, Delhi under jurisdiction of PS Malviya Nagar where 02 persons were found betting/gambling inside the room by watching the cricket match between India Vs Pakistan. Later on, they were identified as Ayan and Nizam @ Bhutto. Upon their instance, 01 LED TV, 01 laptop, 06 mobile phones & chargers, 01 calculator, register and cash Rs.16,210/- were recovered. During interrogation, they disclosed that they were accepting bets in the cricket match on 23.02.2025 through online betting application. They further disclosed that total amount of Rs.13 lakhs bet had been placed/accepted by them for the cricket match. Accordingly, case FIR No. 147/25, Dt. 24.02.25 U/s 3/4 Gambling Act was registered at PS Malviya Nagar, Delhi and both accused were arrested. The betting articles were seized.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Ayan S/o Sakijan R/o L-Ist, Sangam Vihar, Delhi. Age 32 yrs.. Nizam @ Bhutto S/o Jamiri R/o L- Ist, Sanam Vihar, Delhi Age 45 yrs. He was previously found to be involved in case FIR No. 574/21 U/s 12/9/55 Gambling Act, PS Neb Sarai.
RECOVERY: One LED TV , One Laptop, 06 mobile Phones and chargers , One calculator. One Register, 6. Cash Rs. 16,210/-.
