DELHI POLICE BUSTED CRICKET BETTING RACKET INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 2025 , 3 ARRESTED

THREE LAPTOPS, NINE MOBILE PHONES, TWO NOTEBOOKS ONE TV SCREEN AND OTHER GADGETS RECOVERED

The team of WR-II/Crime Branch has arrested three accused persons namely 1) Himanshu Gulati S/o Late Hari Kishan Gulati R/o Sector-11, Dwarka, Delhi, Age-49 years (2) Amit Kumar S/o Ramesh Chander R/o Kiran Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-32 years and (3) Amit Makol S/o Late Manoharlal R/o Kiran Garden, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-43 years who were indulged in illegal IPL betting with the help of Laptop, mobile phones and other gadgets. 

On 30/04/2025, a secret information was received to ASI Shreeom regarding running of Organized Crime (Cricket Betting/Satta Syndicate) in the area of Sector-11, Dwarka, Delhi. The information was further developed and it was emerged that nowadays, the T-20 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 of Cricket is going on and the racket is indulged in illegal betting on these matches.

A team led by Insp Pawan Singh, comprising of SI Ravinder Singh, SI Anuj Chhikara, ASI Shreeom, HC Ravinder Singh, HC Pawan, HC Pawan Kumar, HC Pramod, Ct Manoj and Ct Ashok under the close supervision of Sh. Rajpal Dabas, ACP/WR-II was constituted by Sh. Harsh Indora, DCP/Crime-III to nab the criminal.

Accordingly, a raid was conducted at a flat of residential apartment in Sector-11 Dwarka and above three accused persons were apprehended who were indulged in illegal IPL betting with the help of Laptops and mobile phones. The accused were seated at a table with mobile phones, laptops, and notebooks in the corner room. A live broadcast of the current IPL 2025 cricket match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings was playing on an LED TV. Thereafter, a case FIR No. 105/2025 dated 01.05.25 U/s 3/4 Delhi Public Gambling Act PS Crime Branch was got registered.

INTERROGATION AND DISCLOSURE: -

Mr. Harsh Indora, IPS, DCP, Crime said, during interrogation, it was revealed that that the accused are operating the Satta/betting in online mode and their roles were specific in commission of this organized crime.

Accused Amit Makol was operating a black Dell laptop, which was running a betting application named "Supreme", and connected via HDMI to a Realme LED TV. The live IPL match was being streamed, and the betting rates were displayed on the screen. Accused Amit Kumar was operating an HP black laptop, running the iAssistant (Tally software) application, where he was updating bets placed by punters and bookies in real-time. Master mind Himanshu Gulati was operating a Dell grey laptop, also running iAssistant software, maintaining records of bets by punters and bookies.

Himanshu Gulati was announcing betting rates via microphone to punters and bookies through the speaker. Each punter/bookie had a unique code word. Every bet was manually noted by Amit Makol in a notepad, and simultaneously entered by Amit Kumar into the iAssistant software.

Amit Kumar and Amit Makol would connect incoming calls from punters to Himanshu Gulati or as per his instructions. During questioning, Himanshu Gulati disclosed that the flat belonged to one Ankur Jindal, and was being used specifically to run an IPL betting racket. All three worked together, contacting punters during cricket matches and facilitating illegal betting.

RECOVERY: 3 Laptops, 9 Mobile Phones, 2 Notebooks, 1 TV Screen, 1 Router/WI-FI, 01 Speaker/Dabba

KNOW THE ACCUSED:  Himanshu has studied up to 10th standard, and is running an illegal betting book. He is the mastermind of this syndicate. He supervised the overall operation., Amit Kumar has studied up to 12th standard. He maintained entry of bets in Telly software and financial records on laptop and attended calls of punters AND Amit Makol has studied up to 12th standard. He maintained entry of bets in Notepad and attended calls of punters. He ran the Supreme app and manually logged the bets.
