FIVE DAY FDP ON ‘EMERGING TRENDS IN ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY’ ETET-2020 CONCLUDED

5-Day online Faculty Development Program on ‘Emerging Trends in Engg & Technology-2020’ ETET-2020 organized by the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering in collaboration with Textile Engineering concluded here on Monday at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering & Technology (GZSCCET), MRSPTU Bathinda.

Speaking at the concluding technical session on Block Chain, Dr. R.K. Bansal, Professor of Electronics Engg. at GZSCCET Bathinda highlighted inherent inbuilt Trust and Security in the Block Chain technology. He gave a clarion call to all participants to get expertise in this emerging technology and get the country away from many evils of frauds and scams occurring in financial transactions. He also spoke on the positive role played by Block Chain when supply chain was adversely affected by ongoing Covid pandemic.

Earlier during the day Dr. Samrat Mukhopadyay of IIT Delhi deliberated on engineering applications of environment friendly Green Composites and on the advances being made in the field.

The FDP was aimed to present emerging trends and developments in the field of engineering and technology. In all more than 100-participants from academia and industries including DELL Bangalore, Techzone Ludhiana, SMVDU Katra; Apeejay Noida; AMU Aligarh; NIFT Jodhpur; TIT&S Bhiwani; LPU Phagwara; Banasthali Vidyapeeth; TIET Patiala; VJTI Mumbai; Amity University and MITS Lakshmangarh completed it successfully after participating in a test conducted at the end of the program. During the 5-day FDP, experts from IIT Delhi, University of California, Berkeley, NIT Kurukshetra, PEC Chandigarh interacted with participants on emerging areas like Industry 4.0, IoT, Data sciences, Block Chain, and Nanotechnology.

Dr. Savina Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs of MRSPTU and Campus Director GZSCCET Bathinda was the Chief Guest at the concluding session. She emphasized on the need of more such programmes in technical institutes to create awareness about research issues and challenges involved in realizing these technologies for the overall benefit of society. Dr. Neeraj Gill Head, Deptt. of ECE thanked the participants and resource persons. Coordinator Dr. Anupam Kumar, Dr. Rajeev Varshney, Co-coordinator Sukhjinder Singh and Nikita Sehgal for coordinating the event so well.
