Sh. Jai Gopal Kochhar , known as Ashk Amritsari, founder of NGO Sankalp, renowned poet of Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, passed away.
He was also Ex principal, Sarvhitkari Model Sr. Sec. School, Mohali and Ex President, BJP, Mohali
He was honoured with many awards like Sarasvati Samman, Lifetime achievement award for contribution in the field of education and social service, Chandigarh Sahitya academy etc.
Mr. Aditya Nagrath, General Secretary of Sanaklp, said late Sh. Jai Gopal Kochhar, was a vibrant member of the family and will be dearly missed. The cremation rites were held at Cremation ground, Mohali
