CHANDIGARH PRESS CLUB ELECTIONS ANNOUNCED, GULATI APPOINTED RETURNING OFFICER FOR MARCH 31 POLL

The Annual General body, which met on Sunday,has fixed March 31th,2024 (Sunday) as the polling date for electing the new office- bearers of the Chandigah Press club for 2024-25.

The house approved the appointment of Mr. Vishal Gulati as Returning Officer and Mr. Virendra Singh and Mr. Rajeshwar Gupta assistant returning officers to conduct the election process.

It was also decided that all members should clear their dues (Annual Subscription, Welfare Fund and Kitchen/bar bills) by March 26, 2024, till 11:00pm so that they can become eligible to cast their vote in the election year.  As per the Club information, the office will remain open tomorrow, March 25, from 730pm to 10pm only for collection of subscription and kitchen & bar bills.

The present Governing Council of the club was wholeheartedly praised for installation of Solar plant of 95 KW to save 8 lacs per annum of electricity and earning, with the grant of Punjab Governor Sh. Banwari Lal Puruhit. Morerover the Club raised 25 lacs Welfare Fund for Journalists and 25 lacs deposited for gratuity to the employees.  The lit fest was also raised historical event of biggest one of the achievement of the club in the world.

There was a controversary, which was raised by some members on dicpline of the club, the club President Mr. Saurabh Duggal assured.  there is Zero tolerance of  indicipline , I wholeheately apologise before the house if any  of such activity. We strongly condemn the incidence, in past, if any...added Duggal. 

Mr.Rajesh Dhall Treasurer, added that  the club earned 31 lacs this year from various sources. Gaurav Marwaha of Dainik Bhaskar favoured for support events every month. Ashwani of Punjab Kesari, Ravi Paul of Bhaskar, Anil Bhardwaj raised various issues of Print and Digital Media.

Senior Member Dinesh Goyal Senior member of the Club raised issue of indifferent attitude of the Fortis Hospital , Mohali on pretext of issuing free check up health coupon and raised issue of fake tests reports of Diabetic patients..  

Punjabi Tribune scribes Mukesh Athwal and Mr.Dhunna also raised various issues of the club. 

The Club mourned the sad demise of some Members and their families by mourning of 2 minutes silence to grant peace to the departed soul.
