In a proactive and intelligence-driven operation, the Foreigner Cell of the North-West District Police apprehended 66 Bangladeshi nationals found to be illegally residing in Delhi. The successful raid was conducted on June 06, 2025, within the jurisdiction of PS Bharat Nagar and PP NS Mandi, PS Mahendra Prak.

This operation was part of the ongoing efforts to identify and take action against unauthorized foreign nationals residing in the national capital. It was launched following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of illegal immigrants in the area.

Execution of Operation: The Foreigner Cell of the North West District acted decisively upon receiving reliable intelligence that 11 Bangladeshi families were residing within the jurisdictions of PS Bharat Nagar and PP NS Mandi, PS Mahendra Prak. In response, two specially assigned teams were promptly assembled, and on 6 June 2025 a coordinated operation was launched. The objective was clear: to identify and take action against illegal Bangladeshi immigrants living in unauthorized clusters across the district.

The intelligence inputs specifically highlighted the recent movement of Bangladeshi nationals into the Wazirpur JJ Cluster and N.S. Mandi areas. These families, reportedly migrants from the neighboring state of Haryana, had relocated to Delhi following intensified enforcement actions against illegal immigrants by the police, as well as widespread media coverage of such operations. In an effort to avoid detection, they chose to settle in densely populated and informal localities lacking proper documentation, making it challenging for authorities to trace them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that all 11 families had previously been employed as laborers at brick kilns (Bhatta) located in Village Tain, Nuh (formerly Mewat), Haryana. Upon arrival in Delhi, they sought refuge in areas with high population density and minimal formal oversight, further complicating detection efforts.

Intelligence also suggested that in order to avoid detection, the families had deliberately split into two groups and settled across different locations within the North West District.
In response, two specialized teams undertook extensive field verification operations including door-to-door checks, street patrols, and interviews with local shopkeepers and street vendors. Special attention was paid to local Kiryana store owners and fruit vendors to identify suspicious purchasing patterns, particularly those indicating the presence of families with children—such as repeated purchases of milk and other child-related supplies.

The proactive and intelligence-driven operation was aimed at not only apprehending those attempting to flee but also deterring the illegal movement of foreign nationals in the region. The drive remains ongoing with further verification and legal action under process.

As a result of the operation: 35 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were apprehended from Wazirpur JJ Colony.31 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were apprehended from N.S. Mandi area. A total of 66 illegal foreign nationals including 20 male, 16 females and 30 children were detained during this Total 11 families.
They deliberately concealed their mobile phones and all forms of Bangladeshi identification documents to avoid detection and prevent tracking through mobile surveillance.

Further investigation is currently underway.
