In the two-day All India Mayors Council conference, mayors from across the country unanimously stressed on making the tenure of mayors five years and giving them more power. Mayors said that until they get power, it is impossible to serve the people fully.
This conference was organized by Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal in Amravati Enclave. Kulbhushan Goyal welcomed the National President of All India Mayors Council Madhuri Atul Patel and other mayors. Kulbhushan Goyal said that today first of all a meeting of all the mayors of Haryana was held, in which discussions were held to increase the power of mayors and to get the power to get work done from the officers.
On Monday, these proposals will be placed before Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini. Kulbhushan Goyal said that on Monday there will be a discussion on what techniques are being adopted to keep the cities clean. Guidance will be received from the Chief Minister. There will be an open house meeting, in which any mayor can put forward his views.
There will be discussion on the rights of the Mayor at the state level and the obstacles in getting development work done in public interest, there will be discussion on the increasing population in cities and implementation of government schemes, there will be discussion on the construction of the Council's office in Greater Noida, there will be discussion on the training of mayors. The audit report of the year 2024-25 will be discussed in the meeting.

Information was shared with the journalists about the work of the working committee of the 115th Executive Council meeting of the All India Mayors Council held in Panchkula to decide the direction and condition of the urban bodies of the country.
The meeting is being hosted by Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal. More than 45 mayors from across the country are participating in this two-day national conference, in which burning issues of urban governance will be discussed.
In the press conference, information was shared with the journalists about the review of the Dewas conference, introduction of the new executive, formation of state level organizations, serious discussions on topics like the rights of mayors and challenges of development works, pressure of urban population and implementation of government schemes. On this occasion, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav shared comprehensive information about the development work being done in the country's cleanest city Indore, including cleanliness work.
Former Minister and General Secretary of All India Mayors Council Umashankar Gupta said that various topics are being discussed in the two-day Mayors Conference. A resolution will be passed to increase the powers of Mayors and sent to the Central Government. We had formed a committee to implement a uniform law across the country and submitted the report to the Central Government, but later when the person changes, things also change.
On this occasion, Mayor of Burhanpur Madhuri Atul Patel, National General Secretary Umashankar Gupta, Mayor of Kanpur Pramila Pandey, Mayor of Ayodhya Mahant Girishpati Tripathi, Mayor of Bilaspur Pooja Vidhani ji, Mayor of Faridabad Praveen Joshi, Mayor of Haldwani Gajraj Singh Bisht, Mayor of Aligarh Prashant Singhal, Mayor of Lucknow Sushma Kharkwal, Mayor of Karnal Renu Bala Gupta, Mayor of Yamunanagar Suman Bahamani, Mayor of Gurugram Rajrani Malhotra, Mayor of Rohtak Ram Avatar Valmiki, Mayor of Ambala Shailja Sachdeva and mayors of other cities were present.
