On the occasion of Independence Day, General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited Bathinda Military Station. He was briefed by the General Officer Commanding Chetak Corps.
General Dwivedi was given a comprehensive briefing on the operational readiness of the units and formations deployed in the sector, prevailing security situation, training activities and operational logistics of the Chetak Corps. He commended the seamless synergy between the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) in ensuring robust border management for national security.
During the visit, the COAS felicitated Colonel Satpal Rai Gaba (Retd) of Abohar, Lieutenant Colonel Jagjit Singh Mann (Retd), Cfn Banwari Lal Swami (Retd) and Subedar Major (Honorary Captain) Sis Ram (Retd) for their immense contribution towards armed forces, conservation of nature and nation building. Lt General Manjinder Singh Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command was also present.
