DELHI VIGILANCE UNIT CAUGHT SI RED HANDED ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. 2 LAKH

Vigilance Unit Delhi Police caught red handed SI Karamveer Singh (No. D-5054, 2010 Batch), IFSO, Special Cell, Dwarka, while accepting a bribe of Rs. 2 lakhs from the complainant.

Complainant Vishnu Bishnoi along with his counsel Vishal Sojitra, approached the Vigilance Unit and lodged a complaint regarding demand of bribe by SI Karamveer Singh. They stated that Vishnu’s bank account, along with several other linked accounts had been frozen by IO SI Karamveer Singh of IFSO, Special Cell. Subsequently, complainant received a notice under Section 35(3) BNSS, directing him to join the investigation.

The complainant and his counsel stated that they had appeared multiple times at the office of IFSO and had cooperated with the investigation. SI Karamveer Singh demanded a bribe of Rs. 5 lakhs to de-freeze his bank account/accounts. The application of the complainant regarding de-freezing of bank account is pending in court.

On Tuesday SI Karamveer Singh called the complainant at Sector 14, Dwarka Metro Station to collect the first installment of Rs. 2 lakhs. SI Karamveer Singh came at Metro Station in his personal car and asked the complainant to sit inside and started driving the car. The Vigilance team followed the car and after approx. 2 km, the Vigilance Team managed to stop the car in Dwarka. SI Karamveer Singh tried to escape but he was overpowered and apprehended by the Vigilance Team.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs. 2 Lakhs was recovered from the dashboard of the car of SI Karamveer. A case FIR No. 22/2025, U/s 7 POC Act, dated 23.09.2025, PS Vigilance has been registered in this matter. SI Karamveer Singh has been arrested and further investigation is in progress. He has been posted in the IFSO since 2019.
