Sleuths belonging to Punjab police have nabbed two persons and have recovered three pistols besides live cartridges and magazines from them. One person was nabbed with two pistols (Glock 9 mm) and Beretta (30 mm) along with magazines yesterday by police.
While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said that the police had received inputs that the accused identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Deep (23) and Shamsher Singh alias Sherry (25), were planning to throw arms and ammunition inside the jail following which a trap was laid and the accused were nabbed.
The SSP said that during the frisking, two pistols (.32 and .30 bore) along with two magazines, 20 rounds, 450 intoxicating capsules, 160 tobacco packets were recovered from their shoulder bag.
The accused were booked under sections 22, 61, 85 of NDPS and 25,54,59 of Arms Act at city police station.
The SSP said during the preliminary investigation it has come to fore that bot the accused have been booked in cases of robbery and theft at various police station. “Both accused are booked in five cases each at Ferozepur cantt, city, Sadar, Mamdot, Jalalabad police stations”, said SSP.
Yesterday, one person identified as Saajan resident of Karma village in Mamdot was nabbed and two pistols including one Australian made Glock (9mm) with two magazines and one Italian made Berretta (.30 mm) with two magazines and six rounds, were recovered from him. The accused was booked under sections 25,54,59 of Arms Act at Mamdot police station (FIR No. 130).
