The residents of this border City witnessed an unusual sight this Dussehra as an effigy of US President Donald Trump, symbolizing arrogance and economic aggression, was set ablaze in protest against his tariff policies. The 12-feet tall effigy, adorned with ten heads, was erected by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch on Ram Bagh Road, drawing large crowds of onlookers.

Interestingly, the ten-headed effigy of Trump, which took over fifteen days to build, became a major attraction for city residents. Measuring seven feet in height and symbolically carrying ten heads, it served as a powerful reminder of the growing resentment against economic domination and a renewed call for self-reliance.

District pracharak Tarun Jain of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch said that while Ravan’s effigy is traditionally burnt across the country, the current global economic environment has made Donald Trump no less than a modern-day Ravan, constantly conspiring against India’s interests and damaging its economy through tariff wars. Before being set on fire, the effigy was also beaten with slippers as a mark of public anger.

Jain further emphasized that the Swadeshi movement has now gained strong momentum in the country, urging people to shun foreign products and online shopping platforms in favor of supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs. “Just as Lord Ram, with the help of the Vanar Sena, defeated Ravan, Indians too can counter the arrogance of foreign powers by embracing Swadeshi,” he remarked.
