DELHI POLICE APPREHENDED TEN ILLEGAL BANGLADESHI IMMIGRANTS , 7 SMART PHONES INSTALLED WITH BANNED IMO APP RECOVERED

In a concerted effort to curb illegal immigration, the Foreigner Cell of North-West District Police, Delhi, apprehended ten transgender individuals, in three different operations, eight in the jurisdiction of PS Shalimar Bagh and two in the jurisdiction of PS Mahendra Park. During verification, it was found that they were illegally residing in India and were involvedin begging during the day and indulging in objectionable activities at night. 

Recently, information was received regarding the movement of some suspected Bangladeshi nationals near Haiderpur Metro Station and New Subji Mandi, Mahendra Park. Acting upon this, regular surveillance and area domination exercises were conducted in the said localities. Based on the surveillance, a dedicated team comprising SI Sapan, SI Shyambir, ASI Rajender, HC Vikram, HC Kapil Kumar, HC Vikash Yadav, HC Parveen, HC Tika Ram, HC Kapil, W/HC Poonam, W/HC Deepak, Ct. Nishant Mattoo, Ct. Hawa Singh, and Ct. Deepak Bangarfrom the Foreigner Cell was constituted under the close supervision of Insp. Chaitanya Abhijit I/C Foreigner Cell and overall supervision of Sh. Rajeev Kumar, ACP/Foreigners Cell.

Acting on actionable intelligence gathered during routine checking, the team conducted raids in coordination with informer. During the operation, eight suspicious individuals were intercepted in the jurisdiction of PS Shalimar Bagh near Haiderpur Metro Station and two suspicious individuals were intercepted at New Subji Mandi in the jurisdiction of PS Mahindra Park.

On initial questioning, they claimed to be Indian citizens; however, their inconsistent responses and body language raised doubts about their credentials. Subsequent investigation, including verification of documents, analysis of digital footprints, and examination of photographic evidence, revealed strong links to Bangladesh. Corroborating indicators, such as online connections with Bangladeshi entities, confirmed their identity as illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, following which they were apprehended.

During the course of enquiry, photographs were recovered from their mobile phone gallery and Instagram accounts, which depicted locations in Bangladesh. On sustained interrogation, they admitted their original Bangladeshi nationality and produced their Bangladeshi National ID cards. It was further revealed that they had undergone Gender-Affirming Surgery (GAS) to alter their physical appearance and resemble women. To conceal their identity, they regularly used heavy makeup, sarees or salwar suits, artificial hair (wigs), and other feminine accessories. They had also modified their voice and body language to imitate female mannerisms.

Mr. Bhisham Singh, IPS, DCP, North West Distt, said, the BHISHAM SINGH), IPS. said, this successful operation highlights the Foreigner Cell’s commitment to technology-driven policing, where cyber intelligence, surveillance, and field operations are effectively integrated to tackle critical issues such as illegal immigration. The accused were confirmed to be Bangladeshi nationals residing in the area without valid travel documents, visas, or permits, thereby violating the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946, along with other relevant immigration laws.
