CBI COURT SENTENCES 13 ACCUSED PERSONS IN SAFADARJUNG CO-OPERATIVE GROUP HOUSING SOCIETY CASE

The CBI Court, on Friday has convicted and sentenced 13 accused in Safadarjung Co-operative Group Housing Society Case.

Eleven convicted persons namely, Karamvir Singh, Narender Kumar, Maha Nan Sharma, Pankaj Madan, Ahawni Sharma, Ashutosh Pant, Sudershan Tandon, Manoj Vats, Vijay Thakur, Vikas Madan and Poonam Awasthi have been sentenced to Five Years imprisonment with fine.

Two convicts namely, Gopal Dixit (Rtd. IAS) and Narender Dheer (90 years old) have been sentenced to Two Years imprisonment with fine.

The instant case pertains to irregularities and criminal conspiracy in the revival of the defunct society from the office of RCS by using false and fabricated documents and later, on the basis of the revival order, the land was allotted by the DDA in favour of the society on concessional rates in Delhi. Investigation also revealed that the accused persons, including public servants and private individuals, entered into a criminal conspiracy to fraudulently revive the society on the basis of forged documents and obtained allotment of land from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) through deceitful means.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the case on allegations that the accused entered into a criminal conspiracy to fraudulently revive the society on the basis of forged documents and obtained allotment of land form the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) through deceitful means. After investigation, CBI filed chargesheet in the case on 13.02.2008.

After the trial, the Hon’ble Court convicted 13 accused persons and sentenced them accordingly on 31.10.2025.
