This auction is a significant step towards modernization of railways and better utilization of resources. Today, a major and historic successful e-auction process was completed for train number 12414. The SLR of train number 12414 was charged for a total amount of ₹1,08,57,789 for three years.

Shri Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, said:
"Increasing non-fare revenue while promoting local employment is perfectly aligned with our twin goals of cultural integration and financial sustainability. We are confident that this store will enrich the passenger experience and serve as a model for similar initiatives at other stations."
He further explained that as a result of intensive marketing efforts undertaken by the division, the SLR of train number 12414 was allotted on a three-year contract. This is a significant achievement.

This is the first time in the division that multipurpose stalls have been allotted to various stations through successful e-auctions. This will help the Railways generate additional revenue and open up new employment opportunities.

This move is part of Indian Railways' comprehensive strategy to effectively monetize station spaces and promote regional art, culture, and entrepreneurship.
