Renowned singer–songwriter and composer Ritu Sings officially launched her much-anticipated song “Sindoor” at the Chandigarh Press Club today, amid an inspiring gathering of media and music lovers. The song, which has already generated remarkable interest with its teaser crossing millions of views on social media, is now set to make a transformative impact with its soulful narrative and emotionally charged theme.
Rooted in the real emotions surrounding Operation Sindoor, the track goes beyond the traditional symbolism of sindoor and delves into its deeper essence by representing faith, Shakti, dignity, courage, devotion, and the spirit of protection.
Speaking about the emotions behind the track, Ritu said, "I am feeling a sense of peace if I ask myself this. When Operation Sindoor was ongoing, I felt every emotion that the Pahalgam tragedy unfolded… maybe my DNA carries strong patriotic sense as my father, grandfather, uncles and my aunt, all have served the Indian defence forces.
Critically acclaimed filmmaker Rahul Khan has directed the song. Praising Ritu Sings' artistry and dedication, he said, “I had a truly wonderful experience working with Ritu Ma’am. She is not only an exceptional singer but also an outstanding actor. Her expressions and performance are simply remarkable. A truly multi-talented artist - singer, actor, lyricist, and music composer, she brings magic to everything she creates.
She said, I felt every bit of trauma, pain that victim-women must’ve felt and a deep compassion filled me up which urged me to express all those emotions through this compelling narrative called Sindoor. I wrote Sindoor to connect at a personal level with those families and to salute Bharat’s spirit of compassion and warrior energy whenever the need arose.
My feelings through Sindoor is my way of prayer for peace and Shakti that we all derive through this heart-to-heart connection.”
