CBI APPREHENDS ABSCONDING ACCUSED IN A MURDER CASE IN ABU DHABI IN 2020

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended an absconding accused Shameem KK, from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The accused Shameem KK was absconding since registration of the State Police/ Kerala Case No. 280/2022 (Shafa Sharif Murder Case) on 10.05.2022 and the  CBI Case (RC 05(S)/2022/CBI/SCB/Tvpm). Hence, LOC was issued against him and the Court split the case against him as CP No. 4/2025  

The case was registered by CBI on 03.11.2022 on the orders of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala transferring Crime No. 422/2022 of Nilambur Police Station relating to murder of Indian nationals Haris Thathamma Parambil and a lady named Dency Antony in Abu Dhabi on 05.03.2020. 

The deceased Harris was doing a business consultancy in Abu Dhabi and Shaibin Ashraf (Accused) became his friend. Due to jealousy and business rivalry, accused Shaibin Ashraf hatched a criminal conspiracy with other accused persons to kill Harris and grab his business and savings. Accordingly, accused Shaibin Ashraf deployed other accused persons in this case at Gulf bearing their expenses and killed Harris and Dency Antony, who was staying along with Harris in a flat in Abu Dhabi, on 05.03.2020 and made it appear that both committed suicide.   

After completion of the investigation, charge sheet was filed on 10.10.2024 against Accused Shaibin Ashraf and other 07 accused persons including absconding accused Shameem KK.
