The Sardar @150 Unity March was organised in Fazilka by MyBharat Fazilka, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The event marked the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, and highlighted his unparalleled contribution in uniting the nation.
Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami, Chief guest, shared detailed insights into the monumental work done by Sardar Patel ji, particularly his instrumental role in integrating princely states and strengthening the unity and integrity of India. She encouraged the youth to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s vision, determination, and commitment toward nation-building.
The event featured several activities, including the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge, inspiring the participants to contribute actively toward a self-reliant India. Various cultural performances showcasing patriotism, unity, and national heritage added further vibrancy to the program.
District Youth Officer Rahul Saini briefed the gathering about the purpose of the Unity March and the initiatives undertaken by MyBharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to empower and connect young citizens across the nation. He highlighted the importance of youth engagement in nation-building activities and appreciated the enthusiastic participation witnessed in Fazilka.
SDM Veerpal Kaur played a crucial role in ensuring smooth implementation and coordination. Her support significantly contributed to the success of the event. About 500 enthusiastic youth participated in the Unity March.
