In a major breakthrough against organized cyber-financial crime, the Inter State Cell of Crime Branch, Delhi Police has arrested four key accused involved in operating and facilitating a multi-layered cyber fraud network used for routing proceeds of a massive online investment fraud amounting to ₹7.16 crore. The arrests were made during the investigation of FIR No. 11/2025 (e-FIR No. 60000584/2025), dated 03.11.2025, U/s 308/318(4)/319/340 BNS, PS Crime Branch, Delhi, being investigated by ISC, Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

The complainant was lured into an online trading scam by unknown persons who contacted him through WhatsApp and added him to fake investment groups displaying fabricated profits. They made him download a fake trading app named “CONIFER”, where an account was created without linking any genuine bank or DEMAT details. After showing artificial profits, the accused persuaded him to invest in a fake IPO of “Jayesh Logistics”, leading him to transfer a total of ₹27,20,000/- into multiple beneficiary accounts, mainly belonging to Bhawani Travel and Tour Agency and Nexus-IN Broadband. When he refused to pay an additional ₹22 lakhs, his app account was frozen.

Subsequent verification revealed that these accounts were mule accounts operated by a coordinated group based in Pune and Hyderabad. During investigation, the mule account of M/s Nexus-IN Broadband was identified as a primary channel for receiving and laundering the cheated money. Financial scrutiny exposed a highly structured network of mule accounts, layered shell entities, and rapid cash withdrawals systematically orchestrated by the accused to siphon off the cheated funds.

The cheated amount of ₹27,20,000/- was routed into three beneficiary accounts, including the mule account of M/s Nexus-IN Broadband operated by the four accused. The funds were received in quick succession after inducing the complainant to invest in fake secondary and pre-IPO schemes. Immediately upon receipt, the money was layered through rapid transfers, ATM withdrawals, and routing to further mule accounts. No legitimate business activity was found for M/s Nexus-IN Broadband, confirming its exclusive use for fraud. Recovered devices, bank instruments, and chats establish coordinated handling and siphoning of cheated funds by the accused.
