Braving dense fog and biting cold, a large number of people gathered Thursday morning at the Brahma Kumaris Rajyoga Bhawan for a spiritually enriching program to welcome the New Year. The program began with a message from Pushplata Behan, the in-charge of the Center.
Sunita Behan highlighted the importance of the New Year and the expansion of the Rajyoga Bhavan, saying that a long-cherished dream has come true today on the 42nd anniversary of the Center.
The chief guest, Mayor Vimal Thatai, said that people spend millions of rupees on New Year's Eve celebrations to attain material happiness, but the New Year's welcome program today has a unique significance. He said that the message we receive here is to renounce all kinds of vices, conflicts, and hatred, and to dedicate ourselves to achieving the goal of world transformation through self-transformation, as given by the UNO.
Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh quoted Brahma Kumaris founder Brahma Baba, saying that we have to transform the cause into a solution and the problem into a resolution. This is only possible if we develop a positive mindset while living within the framework of our civilization and culture.
The program began with the lighting of the lamps and cutting of a cake by the distinguished guests. Darshana Behan, Shalu Behan, Bar Association former president Ramesh Kumar Sharma and Dr. Sanjay Gupta were also present.
The cultural program was enriched by dances based on spiritual songs, by Mehak. Saira, Gurun, Pihu, Drishti and Chhavi.
