Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep sorrow over the massive fire incident that occurred late Sunday night in Arki market of Solan district, in which an eight-year-old child reportedly lost his life.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Chief Minister immediately directed the district administration to carry out relief and rescue operations on a war footing. He stated that fire tenders from the Arki Fire Station, Baluganj in Shimla district, Banlaggi in Solan district, and Ambuja Cement Company were rushed to the spot to control the blaze. The fire has now been brought under control by the fire department.
The Chief Minister informed that local MLA Sanjay Awasthi reached the site and is supervising the relief and rescue operations. Two persons injured in the incident are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, Arki, and the local administration has been instructed to provide them with all possible assistance.
Directing the district administration to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident, the Chief Minister also ordered immediate assistance to the bereaved family of the deceased child.
Expressing heartfelt condolences, he said that the state government stands firmly with the affected family in this hour of grief. Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
