Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, Chairman of the Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan, visited Shadman Chowk in Lahore on the occasion of Valentine’s Day to pay rich tribute to the legendary freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. He laid floral wreaths at the Chowk and expressed deep respect and affection for their unparalleled sacrifices. The Chowk was a part of the central jail where the revolutionaries were hanged.

Qureshi stated that Valentine’s Day should not be limited to a celebration of romance alone, but should be observed as a universal day of love, sacrifice, principles, and humanity. He emphasized that the lives of Bhagat Singh and his comrades represent the highest form of love - a love that is rooted in resistance against injustice and in the courage to lay down one’s life for the dignity of human beings.

He remarked, “True love is not merely an emotion; it is a commitment to stand against oppression, to defend truth, and to struggle for justice. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev demonstrated that real love demands sacrifice, bravery, and unwavering faith in human values.”

He said, “Our mission is to keep alive the revolutionary spirit of these heroes, so that future generations may understand love not just as a personal feeling, but as a powerful force for peace, resistance, and humanity in an increasingly divided world”.
