Members of the Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan visited the grave of the great Punjabi folk hero Dulla Bhatti at Miani Sahib Graveyard in Lahore on the occasion of his 427th death anniversary. They laid floral wreaths and offered special prayers for the elevation of his ranks.

The members included Senior Vice Chairman Malik Ihtesham-ul-Hassan, Additional secretary and Mian Muhammad Tariq Amin Advocate.

Foundation chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi said that Dulla Bhatti is a shining, courageous, and timeless figure in the history of the subcontinent, who continues to live on as a symbol of resistance against oppression and a protector of the oppressed. He stood firmly against the tyrannical Mughal rulers of his time and upheld the banner of truth and justice, proving through his actions that true bravery lies in standing up against Cruelty.

Qureshi expressed serious concern over the current condition of Dulla Bhatti’s grave, stating that the government-allocated three-and-a-half marla land has been encroached upon by land grabbers, who have constructed illegal structures, severely damaging the sanctity and beauty of this historic site. He also highlighted the alarming presence of drug dealers in the graveyard, calling it a clear sign of administrative negligence.

He strongly urged the Government of Punjab to immediately retrieve the land allocated for the shrine, construct a befitting and historically significant mausoleum for Dulla Bhatti, ensure proper security arrangements, include him in the national curriculum, issue commemorative postage stamps and coins in his name, and officially recognize him as a national hero at the state level.
