100 ADIVASI COUPLES MARRIED AT MASS MARRIAGE FUNCTION

As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Himmat Nagar, 100 Adivasi couples were married in the Samuh Lagnotsav (mass marriage) ceremony. Among the dignitaries were D.G. Jhala, MLA, and other local officials. Shrirang Swami welcomed the guests. Tribal devotees sang kirtan and performed a traditional group dance to express their happiness.  

 

Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami and dignitaries untied a nadachhadi to inaugurate the function. Swami ji sanctified items to be given to newly married couples. Dignitaries honored Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami with a garland. 

Pujya Ishwarcharan Swami described Pramukh Swami Maharaj's great work of tribal upliftment. He said that Pramukh Swami Maharaj, with his selfless love and spiritual strength, made an unforgettable contribution to the countrywide movement for the upliftment of tribals. Along with showering immense love on him, the divine seer Pramukh Swami Maharaj did many things for the betterment of his life.

Pujya Viveksagar Swami said that for tribal upliftment, in the year 1977, Pramukh Swami Maharaj visited 91 villages in Sabarkantha in 45-degree temperature and in 1979, he visited 95 villages in 21 days. While wandering in remote villages, facing hardships, Pramukh Swami Maharaj changed the lives of people suffering from poverty, superstition, illiteracy, addictions and many other problems.
