The sleuths belonging to Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Punjab Police have nabbed a drug peddler and recovered 1.654 kg heroin from him.
While divulging details, SSP Bhupinder Singh said that following the inputs, the CIA sleuths nabbed one Surjeet Singh alias Kali (20) from the city area. The SSP said that the nabbed youth has no previous crime record and during the preliminary investigation, he revealed that he fell in this trap to make "easy money".
"I urge the youth to stay away from such things and focus more on hardwork instead of getting trapped into such things", said SSP.
HEROIN RECOVERED DURING JOINT SEARCH OPERATION NEAR INTERNATIONAL BORDER
In another operation, the police recovered 496 gram heroin during a joint operation with the sleuths belonging to 155 batallion of BSF near BOP Satpal in this sector.
As per information, following specific inputs, a joint search operation had been carried out during which the consignment was recovered from the agricultural fields of one Manjeet Singh near Gatti Rajo ke village. The consignment was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape.
