Assistant Divisional Fire Officer has taken Serious cognizance upon two fire incidents within within 48 days in the premises of the famous HIMS Hospital (Jeena Seekho) near Devinagar on the Ambala Chandigarh Highway falls under Derabassi Municipal Council.
The fire department team reportedly cancelled the fire safety license of the HIMS hospital, terming the fire control measures inadequate, The investigation reveals that there was no proper safety measures as the authorities of HIMS admits patients came across country. Fire Department has sought to improve the fire measures within three days. If this is not done, further action will be taken under the Punjab Fire and Emergency Services Act 2024, added Asstt. Divisional Fire Officer.
NOTICE ISSUED TO MD OF JEENA SIKHO LIFE CARE
The fire department reported has sent notice to the Managing Director of Jeena Sikho Lifecare Private Limited, Devinagar that an incident of fire occurred in the hospital on 07-03-2025 at 06:00 am. The fire brigade personnel found on the spot that the fire fighting arrangements made in the hospital building were inadequate and were not completed by the authorities Even satisfactory action was taken by the employees to extinguish the fire.
Similarly on 25-04-2025 at 6:05 PM, there was an incident of fire in the hospital building. The temporary buildings of the hospital, which was converted from a Guest House to Hospital, have been partly damaged due to fire. The fire station team which went to the spot found that no satisfactory action has been taken by the employees to extinguish the fire with the fire extinguisher present in the building. Hence, in view the seriousness of the fire and keeping in mind the public safety, the Fire Safety Certificate 1502-97685-Fire/7391 No. 9 BHI 19-08-2024 issued by this office has been cancelled with immediate effect, said the Asstt. Divisional Officer of the Fire Department.
WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOS OF LIFE AND PROPERTY?
Strict instructions were given to complete the fire fighting arrangements and sought the report within three days of the issuance of the letter. If this is not done, further action will be taken under the Punjab Fire and Emergency Services Act 2024. If any kind of fire incident occurs in future due to lack of fire fighting system and unavailability of fire trained staff, then you will be personally responsible for the loss of life and property caused by it. Parallel investigation of fire accidents is also going on separately by the Grievance Redressal Cell of the SDM office. That is why the fire department has sent a copy of its investigation to the Sub Divisional Magistrate Derabassi.
