DSGMC PROVIDES LANGAR TO CENTRAL POSTAL LADIES ORGANIZATION

Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is providing daily langar for 2000 persons to Central Postal Ladies Organization for distribution through CPLO Volunteers to the migrant labours moving on foot on Noida Lucknow Expressway.. 

Central Postal Ladies Organization, a National wide organization of women officers and employees working in Department of Post and wives of the employees and officers of the Department of Post has partnered with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee for providing nutritious and fresh food to the migrants labourers on way back to their homes said Manjinder Singh Sirsa President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee here today.

 DSGMC had received a request from Ms Smriti Sharan Deputy Director-General Department of Post who is also Secretary CPLO on 13 th May in which she had requested for langar and bigger size utensils to carry the food and DSGMC decided to extend all possible assistance and guidance to Central Postal Ladies Organization in their mission and zeal to serve humanity.

He said that DSGMC had received a request from Ms Smriti Sharan Deputy Director-General Department of Post who is also Secretary CPLO on 13 th May in which she had requested for langar and bigger size utensils to carry the food and DSGMC decided to extend all possible assistance and guidance to Central Postal Ladies Organization in their mission and zeal to serve humanity.

He said that Langar to around 2000 (two thousand only) is being provided from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib daily since 14 th May and in addition to Langar DSGMC is also providing Large Sized Utensils to enable the Organization to carry the Langar in Postal Department Vehicles to various destinations so as to check wastage in transportation and distribution of the Langar. This langar is being distributed by Central Postal Ladies Organization volunteers on various places in Modi Nagar, Murad Nagar, Hindon and Ghaziabad etc areas daily in complete cooperations with the UP Police and Local District Authorities.

He said that CPLO gets information about the movement of labourers from UP Police and moves its Langar to various places having a sizeable number of migrants moving on roads on way back to their homes.He said that CPLO volunteers get active assistance of UP Police to distribute the langar in a peaceful and disciplined manner.

He said that while initially Langar for 2000 was being sent but from last two day the langars for around 4000 persons is being sent due to increase in the number of migrants in these areas seeking food on way to their native homes. Sh Harmeet Singh Kalka General Secretary DSGMC said that Gurdwara Body will continue support Central Postal Ladies Organization in providing Langar Services till the period when complete normalcy is achieved and told that DSGMC will also provide any other additional service like Volunteers etc to the organizations for distribution and carrying food to the beneficiaries if any such request is received from the CPLO
