HARYANA REVOKES ESMA AGAINST STRIKING EMPLOYEES : MOOL CHAND SHARMA

EMPLOYEES CAN AVAIL AN ACCIDENT INSURANCE FACILITY OF UP TO RS 35 LAKH BY OPENING THEIR SALARY ACCOUNT WITH BANKS NAMELY HDFC, ICICI, CORPORATION AND STATE BANK OF INDIA. IN CASE OF NATURAL DEATH, THE FAMILY OF THE DECEASED EMPLOYEE WILL GET AN INSURANCE AMOUNT OF RS 10 LAKH.

Haryana Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that a letter has been written to the District Attorney regarding the removal of ESMA for the employees on strike.

Besides this, the employees can avail an accident insurance facility of up to Rs 35 lakh by opening their salary account with banks namely HDFC, ICICI, Corporation and State Bank of India. In case of natural death, the family of the deceased employee will get an insurance amount of Rs 10 lakh.

The Transport Minister said this in a meeting with the officers of various Haryana Roadways Employees Unions here today. In this meeting, the leaders of employee unions put across their demands along with giving constructive suggestions.

Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that most of the demands of the employee unions have been met and the remaining demands are in process. Thus, there is no such demand of employees on which action has not been taken, he added. He said that the COVID-19 pandemic has laid an impact on the world and almost every sector has been affected by it. Thus, the plans of the Department have also been affected or else 867 buses would have been added to the fleet of buses.

The Transport Minister said that as far as the adding new lot of buses is concerned we will have to consider electric and CNG buses. Whenever new buses are purchased in future, the Department will ensure that the Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) are done and or proper training is imparted to the employees.

He said that employees are the backbone of the Department and the interests of the Department or employees will be safeguarded. There have been many promotions in the Department and about 250 more will be done by December, he added.

Principal Secretary Transport Department, Mr. Shatrujit Kapoor said that in a recent meeting, measures were discussed to develop better coordination between RTA Secretaries and Depot General Managers.

Director General of Transport Department, Mr. Virendra Dahiya said that drivers and conductors are the backbone of the department. Joint Director State Transport-1, Mrs. Meenakshi Raj, besides several senior officers of the Department were present in the meeting.
