A team of officials of Police Station, Sector-49, Chandigarh headed by Insp. Om Parkash, SHO/PS-49, has successfully solved a blind attempt-to-murder case through meticulous investigation.
The probe involved scrutinizing CCTV footage from approximately 110-115 cameras in the vicinity and verifying several past offenders. The investigation revealed that the victim had a scuffle and altercation with some juveniles in a school bathroom a few days prior to the incident, which led to a deep-seated grudge. This resentment culminated in the heinous act.
During interrogation, we recovered the weapons and items from their possession which were used in the crime including 01 dagger knife, a Splendor motorcycle, a stone, and the clothes worn by the juveniles on the day of the incident and same were taken into police possession through seizure memo.
Through in-depth investigation, local sources were also developed leading to the apprehension of two juveniles involved in the crime, thereby solving this blind case.

The above said case was registered on the complaint of Sunil Kumar S/o Dharam Singh R/o House No. 2690, Sector 49/C, Chandigarh, aged 48 years in which he stated that he works as a tailor. On the day of the incident, at around 02:30 PM, a neighboring girl named Nandini came running to him and informed him that his son, Shivam Singh was lying injured near the dividing road between Sector 49 and 50, near the wall of Progressive Enclave in Sector 50.
He immediately rushed to the spot with taxi driver Anil and found his 16-year-old son Shivam bleeding profusely from his stomach and having multiple injuries. With the help of Anil, he took his son to PGI for treatment. On the way, injured Shivam told his father that he was attacked by three unknown boys on a two-wheeler, who stabbed him with knives in an attempt to kill him. He does not know the names and addresses of the attackers but can identify them if they are seen again. On this above said case was registered.
