To celebrate Raksha Bandhan, Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu visited the Sadki Border post and personally tied Rakhis to the brave soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) guarding the India-Pakistan border. She was accompanied by SDM Veerpal Kaur.
The DC said that the entire nation salutes BSF’ contribution towards ensuring the safety of the country’s brothers and sisters. She said, “Raksha Bandhan is not merely a festival of love between brothers and sisters, but a symbol of trust, commitment, and the promise of protection. Today, by tying these Rakhis on the wrists of my brave brothers, I pray that they always remain safe and continue to lead in the service of our nation’s security.”
BSF officers expressed their gratitude to the DC and the SDM, stating that such emotional gestures make them feel connected to their families and boost their morale. BSF officers Ajay Kumar Shriram and Vinod Kumar were also present.
She said that soldiers posted on the border protect the nation while staying away from their families, and it is our duty to express gratitude and respect towards them. She added that the true essence of Raksha Bandhan lies in the vow to protect one another, and BSF jawans fulfill this vow every day by putting their lives at risk. SDM Veerpal Kaur also shared Raksha Bandhan greetings with the soldiers. The DC also presented sweets to the BSF personnel.
