Range Officer of Forest and Wildlife Protection Department, Mangat Ram, who retired after 38 years of excellent service, was given a grand farewell by his colleagues.
On the occasion, his wife Hardeep Kaur (Superintendent SDM Office Abohar) along with other family members, relatives and well-wishers were especially present.
It is worth mentioning that Mangat Ram, who started his career in 1987 as a forest guard in the Forest and Wildlife Protection Department from Ludhiana district, has provided excellent services at various posts in Abohar, Fazilka, Malout and Lambi. He was serving as Wildlife Range Officer in Abohar till the day of retirement.
While making significant contributions to forest conservation in his career, he also worked day and night for the protection of wildlife. The team under his supervision has also achieved a lot of success in arresting several hunters and dozens of people involved in wildlife smuggling.
His colleagues said that Mangat Ram, a completely religious oriented personality, has a cheerful nature who used to play an active role in religious and social welfare activities along with departmental work. Besides participating enthusiastically in religious programmes of Balaji Ashirwad Sangh, Mangat Ram and his family members have been extending a whole-hearted support in social events in Abohar and surrounding areas.
